Data Structures and Algorithms in Python for Coding Interviews
A 20-lesson walkthrough of the core data structures (arrays, linked lists, hash tables, stacks, queues, trees, binary search trees, graphs) and classic algorithms (binary search, five sorting algorithms, recursion), each implemented in Python. Most lessons end with an exercise. It suits learners with basic Python who are preparing for coding interviews or want to see how these structures work internally.

What You'll Learn
- Explain Big O notation and analyze the time complexity of operations on arrays, linked lists and hash tables
- Implement a singly linked list, a hash table and a binary search tree in Python, including hash collision handling with separate chaining and linear probing
- Use Python lists and collections.deque as stacks and queues
- Build a general tree and a binary search tree, and perform in-order, pre-order and post-order traversals and node deletion
- Write linear, binary and recursive binary search, and compare their performance
- Implement bubble, insertion, selection, merge, quick (Hoare and Lomuto) and shell sort, and state their complexities
- Describe how recursion works and write simple recursive functions
Prerequisites
- Basic Python: functions, loops, lists, dictionaries and classes
- Comfort writing and running small Python scripts
