Kubernetes for Beginners: Hands-On from Pods to Production Features
A hands-on Kubernetes course that starts with why orchestration exists and the cluster architecture, then builds up through Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress, storage, configuration, health probes, autoscaling, RBAC and scheduling. Most topics have the instructor writing YAML manifests live on a local Minikube or KIND cluster and troubleshooting errors. It suits learners who already know basic Docker and want to deploy and operate applications on Kubernetes.

What You'll Learn
- Explain what Kubernetes adds on top of Docker, and describe the roles of the API server, etcd, scheduler, controller manager, kubelet and kube-proxy
- Set up a local cluster with KIND or Minikube and use core kubectl commands to create, inspect, edit, debug and delete resources
- Write Kubernetes YAML manifests for Namespaces, Pods, Deployments, ReplicaSets, DaemonSets, StatefulSets, Jobs and CronJobs
- Run rolling updates and rollbacks, and use labels and selectors to connect Services to Pods
- Expose applications with ClusterIP, NodePort and LoadBalancer Services, Ingress and the Gateway API
- Provide storage and configuration with Volumes, PersistentVolumes, PVCs, StorageClasses, ConfigMaps and Secrets
- Configure probes, resource requests and limits, HPA/VPA, RBAC and ServiceAccounts, and node scheduling with taints, tolerations and node affinity
Prerequisites
- Basic Docker knowledge: images, containers and running a container from the command line
- Comfort with a terminal and a text editor
- A computer able to run Docker and a local Minikube or KIND cluster
