Kubernetes for Beginners: Architecture, Deployments, Networking and Helm
A hands-on Kubernetes course that starts with core concepts and cluster architecture, then moves to Minikube, kubectl, YAML configuration and a full MongoDB plus Mongo Express deployment. It goes on to namespaces, Ingress, Services, volumes, StatefulSets, Helm, a managed-cloud deployment and Prometheus monitoring. It suits developers and aspiring DevOps engineers who already know what a container is and want to run applications on Kubernetes.

What You'll Learn
- Explain the Kubernetes architecture: worker node processes, the control plane (API server, scheduler, controller manager, etcd) and how they interact
- Run a local cluster with Minikube and use kubectl to create, inspect, debug and delete pods and deployments
- Write Deployment, Service, ConfigMap and Secret YAML files and connect them with labels, selectors and ports
- Deploy a multi-component application (MongoDB plus Mongo Express) and expose it with Services and Ingress
- Choose between ClusterIP, NodePort, LoadBalancer and headless Services, and between Deployments and StatefulSets
- Persist data with PersistentVolumes, PersistentVolumeClaims and StorageClasses, and pull images from a private registry
- Install applications with Helm, deploy to a managed cloud cluster, and set up basic Prometheus and Grafana monitoring
Prerequisites
- Basic familiarity with containers and Docker images (the course does not teach Docker itself)
- Comfort using a command line
- A machine able to run Minikube if you want to follow the demos; some demos use a cloud account (AWS, Linode)
